Chevrolet Camaro yang tampil dalam film-film "Transformers" sebagai si kuning "Bumblebee" akan tampil dalam wajah baru.

General Motors, pemilik merek Camaro, memandang kendaraan itu telah mendatangkan sukses besar. Jadi, mereka sangat berhati-hati agar model terbaru Camaro  yang akan diluncurkan pada musim gugur 2015 itu tidak "ngaco".

Apa saja masalah yang dihadapi kepala insinyur  Camaro Al Oppenheiser? Seperti dituturkan Autonews.com, salah satunya adalah penurunan bobot kendaraan dan jumlah silinder mesin.

"Mobil itu sukses besar, jadi nantinya akan makin sulit," kata Oppenheiser mengenai Camaro generasi ke-6 yang sedang dia rancang itu.

Camaro menguasai 42 persen pangsa pasar coupe rear-drive pada 2011. Camaro memiliki pesaing Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger dan pendatang baru coupe Hyundai Genesis. Chevrolet Camaro dijual sebanyak 88.249 unit pada tahun lalu diikuti Mustang sebanyak 70.438 unit dan Challenger sebanyak 39.534 unit.

Hyundai menjual Genesis sebanyak 32.998 pada tahun lalu tapi hanya mencakup coupe dan sedan. Hyundai tidak merilis angka bersamaan.

Menurut kabar, Mustang akan didesain ulang dan diharapkan model terbaru Mustang akan hadir pada 2015 sekaligus merayakan ulang tahun ke-50 tahun kehadirannya.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 2012

The ZR1 is the quickest, most powerful and most expensive Corvette model ever made. It boasts 638 tire-shredding horsepower, the same Brembo carbon ceramic brakes used by the Bugatti Veyron and a sophisticated suspension system employed by a number of Ferrari models.


An all-new LS9 motor produces 638 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 604 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm, thanks in part to a four-lobe Eaton supercharger. Hand-built in Wixom, Michigan, the big V8 teams up with a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox with a new high-capacity clutch designed for the increased power. The twin-disc 260mm design provides plenty of clamping power, while maintaining a relatively easy clutch action.
All that firepower equates to a zero-to-60 mpg time of just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph. Fuel economy, rated at 14 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway, is actually fairly reasonable given the car's power.
GM used the Z06 chassis as a starting point, but further tuned the front and rear independent suspension to work with the ZR1's ultra-wide tires for increased grip. According to GM, the car achieves 1g cornering grip.
Exotic looks, exotic materials
The use of carbon fiber is pretty extensive throughout the ZR1. The wider fenders are made of the material, as are the hood, roof panel, roof bow, front fascia splitter and rocker moldings.
The roof and front fascia splitter have a raw carbon fiber appearance with a protective clear coat. The hood is painted like the rest of the car, but the underside is exposed carbon-fiber-weave for increased novelty.
Another standout feature of the hood is a clear polycarbonate "window" that provides a view of the top of the engine's intercooler, with embossed "LS9 Supercharged" lettering.
Brakes, Tires, and Wheels
The ZR1 has the largest wheels ever of any production Corvette -- not just in diameter, but in width also. The rims measure 20 inches in rear diameter and 19 inches up front. Rear width is a whopping 12 inches, while the front wheels are nearly as massive at 10 inches of width.
In terms of wheel finish, a bright silver paint coat is standard and a chrome version is optional.
The matching Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires measure P285/30ZR19 in front and P335/25ZR20 in the rear. While Michelin's PS2 tires are offered on many vehicles, these were engineered specifically for the ZR1, GM says.
The car's braking system features Brembo carbon-ceramic rotors measuring 15.5 inches up front and 15 inches at the rear- the same units used on the Bugatti Veyron supercar. GM says the rotors are so durable they should not requiring replacement for the life of the vehicle.
Squeezing the discs are six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers, painted in ZR1-exclusive blue.
Adjustable suspension
The ZR1 comes with a Magnetic Selective Ride Control (MSRC) suspension system. Similar to the technology used on a number of Ferrari models, the MSRC shocks are automatically adjusted based on driving conditions and vehicle dynamics (cornering, braking, etc) for optimal handling. The system is adjusted every milisecond to provide sharp handling during spirited driving, and a smooth ride while cruising.
While the ZR1 is overall a more aggressive sports car than the Z06, it is actually less harsh over bumps, thanks to the MSRC technology. The damping control of MSRC allowed for front and rear springs that have a slightly lower rate than the Z06, which enhances the car's ride quality.
Optional premium interior features
There is very little optional equipment on the ZR1. Aside from the aforementioned chrome wheels, the only other optional equipment is a premium interior package. The kit includes power-adjustable leather-trimmed sport seats, leather-wrapped interior elements (including the dashboard), a navigation system, and Bluetooth connectivity. The interior leather treatments are available in four colors.
Key Competitors
As the king of Corvettes, the 638 horsepower ZR1 competes against expensive exotic machines like the Porsche 911 Turbo S, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and the Audi R8 GT.

Chevrolet Camaro Zl1 2012

GM threw everyone a curve ball. It faked to the Z28 name, the automotive press bit hard, and it instead lobbed the ball over to the ZL1 designation. The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 recently debuted at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. It is replacing the SS as the brand’s highest-performing Camaro.

Where does the ZL1 name stem from? It is derived from the all-aluminum engine developed by GM in the late 60s and installed into a handful of regular production 1969 Camaros. Only 69 were built, and all have since achieved mythical status among enthusiasts, as they represent the pinnacle in Camaro performance. That is until now.

The Camaro ZL1 will be the fastest Camaro ever offered by Chevrolet. Think of the ZL1 as a Cadillac CTS-V in a cheaper suit and thus requiring about $15,000 less funds to purchase. It utilizes the same 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine producing 550 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. It also steals Magnetic Ride Control from Cadillac’s most impressive car. The ZL1’s Magnetic Ride system will include driver selectable modes—Tour and Sport—depending on desired driving style. Unlike the Cadillac, the Camaro ZL1 will only come with a six-speed manual transmission.

Camaro ZL1 features a braking system developed in conjunction with Brembo. The large 14.6-inch front rotors have six-piston calipers; the 14.4-inch rear rotors have four-piston calipers. ZL1 marks the entry of a new electric power steering system to Camaro. The engine does not incorporate a conventional hydraulic power steering pump and thus no engine power is used to turn a steering pump pulley, enhancing performance.

On the exterior, Chevrolet says it wanted to differentiate the ZL1 from other Camaros without adding too many decorative elements. Major elements of the ZL1’s design are a new front fascia—including front splitter, fog lamps, and an intake area around the fog lamp designed for brake cooling—and an aluminum hood with a raised, carbon fiber insert. The rear of the car includes a diffuser and spoiler. New rocker panels, wider tires, 20-inch wheels, and exhaust tips also help portray the car’s dynamics. The ZL1 badge appears on the grille, hood, and the brake calipers.

All of the Camaro exterior colors will be offered with the ZL1, but black is the only interior color.

Theo Walcott: Ryo Miyaichi Tampil Reguler Musim Depan

Theo Walcott optimistis winger belia asal Jepang Ryo Miyaichi akan tampil sebagai pemain reguler Arsenal musim depan, sekaligus menjadi momok menakutkan bagi para bek lawan di Liga Primer Inggris.

Piala FA, Kans Terakhir Kenny Dalglish Selamatkan Diri

Mahkota King Kenny Dalglish kini sedang goyah setelah kekalahan menyesakkan dari Newcastle United akhir pekan kemarin, yang menunjukkan keterpurukan The Reds pada musim ini. Berikut pandangan Rob Stewart Dari GOAL.com Inggris.

Dimanakah harus memulainya? Dari Andy Carroll yang diganjar kartu kuning, karena melakukan diving disaat seharusnya dia mencetak gol, ketidaksenangannya saat ditarik keluar oleh Dalglish, semua itu tidak menjelaskan permasalahan. Cerobohnya barisan pertahan, dan kartu merah Pepe Reina makin menggosok luka yang diderita Liverpool.

Untuk menambah jumlah permasalahan, tampak Dalglish masuk ke dalam lapangan hanya sekadar memberi tahu Jose Enrique berada di bawah mistar menggantikan Reina yang diusir keluar lapangan.

Dalglish begitu dipuja para fans berkaitan dengan masa lalunya bersama klub, namun kredibilitas sang manajer dan otoritasnya seperti ditanggalkan sepanjang 90 menit dalam kekalahan 2-0 dari Newcastle United. Demi kebaikan dirinya, Dalglish harus berharap kepada stadion keramat itu untuk membawa peruntungan, karena dikalahkan Everton di fase ini akan sulit dipercaya.

Dalglish merupakan sosok karimastik, penuh inspirasi, tapi ia harus membuktikan nilainya melawan lawannya di Toffees, David Moyes.

Pria asal Skotlandia ini harus melakukan yang lebih baik dibandingkan kunjungan ke Wembley sebelumnya, saat tim besutannya memastikan gelar juara Piala Liga melalui adu penalti melawan tim promosi Divisi Championship Cardiff City. Semi-final Piala FA akan sangat penting, karena kehilangan kepercayaan di tribun maupun jajaran direksi Anfield tidak mengenakkan.

Dalglsih harus bisa memberikan hasil. Mereka bilang cara Liverpool berarti tetap mendukung sang manajer, namun perlakuan terhadap Hodgson pada tahun sebelumnya memperlihatkan sesuatu di masa lalu.

Jika Fenway Sports Group menilai klub menuju keputusasaan, maka mereka akan mengambil tindakan, karena itu berkaitan dengan bisnis. Itu juga yang membuat John W Henry dan koleganya terjun ke industri persepakbolaan Inggris.

Ada anggapan Anda tidak perlu melihat ke belakang, dan fans Liverpool patut dimaafkan atas keinginan Dalglish mengabaikan pepatah lama itu

Pergolakan di musim panas sudah muncuk ke permukaan di Anfield, Carroll sepertinya hampir pasti keluar menyusul perbedaan pendapat dengan san manajer. Namun jika bisa menambahkan Piala FA di lemari trofi Anfield, maka itu bisa menghentikan kritikan terhadap Dalglish.

Masih terselip kesempatan bagi Liverpool dapat menyelesaikan musim ini setinggi mungkin, namun Dalglish butuh agresivitasnya untuk keluar dari tekanan.

Semaksimal mereka mencoba, kapten tim Steven Gerrard dan Luis Suarez tidak mampu berbuat apa-apa, mengingat mereka mendapat tekanan hebat dari tim besutan Alan Pardew.
